Common Questions
Yes. The Bachelor of Physiotherapy has been approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia for the purpose of registration of graduates. Students enrolled in the course will be registered by Southern Cross University with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia as an enrolled student and will remain registered for the duration of study. In order to register to practise, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) standards for English language must also be met.
This course includes Work Integrated Learning (WIL) of approximately 1,000 hours. While SCU considers your current residential address when allocating placements, local placements are not guaranteed. You should be prepared to travel to your allocated placement, which may be outside your immediate local area, and you are responsible for organising and covering any associated costs including travel, accommodation, and related expenses.
Before attending any placement, you must meet mandatory compliance requirements, which may include but are not limited to: immunisations (as per the Australian National Immunisation Program), mask-fit testing, First Aid and CPR certification, and National Police Certificate checks. More detailed information on WIL is available on the Faculty WIL page.
You will study functional human anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, neuroscience, pain sciences, therapeutic exercise, psychology, and pharmacology, and develop an understanding of acute, chronic, acquired and developmental diseases and injury across the lifespan. Throughout the degree you will learn and implement strategies and programs to prevent and manage illness and injury and optimise well-being, function and performance, using a person-centred and evidence-based approach.
For domestic students, the indicative fee is $10,518 (first year only) as a Commonwealth Supported Place. For international students, the annual tuition fee is $26,000 (based on completing 8 units per year at $3,250 per unit). International students are also required to pay Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their visa in advance. Tuition fees are in Australian dollars and are subject to change, including annual increases over the duration of the course.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
