Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) Integrated Honours

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) aims to prepare graduates for practice as physiotherapists in a diverse range of contemporary healthcare settings, developing the distinctive capabilities required for practice in rural and remote, Indigenous and culturally diverse settings. The educational approach values diversity of student backgrounds and learning preferences, and partnership between students and staff to optimise learning outcomes. The course emphasises: - Physiotherapy, in all its breadth and depth, as a unique and important contribution to current and evolving healthcare practice. - Development of values that underpin ethical and professional practice and global citizenship. - Effective and respectful communication, using diverse modes and technology. - The capacity and need to critically reflect upon and develop professional practice, engage in lifelong learning and contribute to the advancement of the profession. - Building of effective relationships and trust through collaboration with clients, other health professionals and relevant stakeholders. - A commitment to empowering self and others through education, leadership and advocacy. - Professional judgement, self-management, flexibility and responsiveness to changing and diverse professional contexts. - A commitment to excellence in physiotherapy practice that is based on sound reasoning and the critical application of research findings and other relevant evidence. - The capacity to critically appraise, design and conduct research of relevance to physiotherapy practice. Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) is an AQF Level 8 qualification, minimum 4 years full-time, 256 credit points. It is offered through the Faculty of Science and Health, School of Allied Health, Exercise and Sport Sciences.
