Common Questions
You will complete 30 weeks (150 days) of supervised school-based placements throughout the degree, allowing you to build confidence, refine your teaching practice, and graduate profession-ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the next generation.
You can tailor your degree by choosing a specialisation in Religious Education (making you eligible for accreditation to teach in Catholic schools), English Education, Mathematics Education, Service Learning and Social Justice (WA only), or Special and Inclusive Education.
Yes. The Reach Higher initiative offers you the opportunity to pursue a Bachelor of Primary Education online via the Broome Campus. Courses feature pre-recorded lectures and interactive online tutorials led by expert tutors, and there are various options for your Professional Experience placements — you can stay close to home, explore local schools, or embark on placements across Australia and overseas. Students must demonstrate residence in an Inner Regional, Outer Regional, Remote or Very Remote part of Australia as defined in the Australian Standard Geography Standard (ASGS) Remoteness Structure (2021).
To graduate, you will need to complete all your coursework and Professional Experience, as well as pass two external assessments: the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) or an alternate pathway, and the Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA).
For WA applicants with recent secondary education, the indicative ATAR/Selection Rank is 70 (which includes ATAR plus Adjustment Factors), or an International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 25. The university also considers non-academic achievements and personal qualities as part of your application.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
