The Bachelor of Architectural Design/Bachelor of Property Economics is an undergraduate double degree consisting of 432 credit points and is normally completed in four and a half years of full-time study or the equivalent part-time study.
Students are required to complete 228 credit points from the Bachelor of Architectural Design component, 180 credit points from the Bachelor of Property Economics component, and 24 credit points of QUT You. The Architectural Design component consists of 216 credit points of core units and 12 credit points of option units, while the Bachelor of Property Economics component consists of 48 credit points of core units and 132 credit points of a major.
The Bachelor of Property Economics meets the education requirements for professional accreditation and membership with the Australian Property Institute, the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers, Malaysia.
Yes, during this course you will encounter work integrated learning (WIL) projects informed by industry, and you will have the opportunity to complete a WIL placement in an elective internship unit. This hands-on experience will enable you to apply your theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios and equip you with the transferable skills and essential work experience required to enter the workforce confidently.
Before starting this course, QUT assumes you have sound knowledge of English (or Literature, or English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language, Units 3 & 4, C) and General Mathematics (or Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics, Units 3 & 4, C). If you don't have this subject knowledge, you can still apply but QUT strongly encourages you to undertake bridging studies to gain the knowledge.
