Common Questions
No, this degree alone will not qualify you to be a practising psychologist. The Bachelor of Psychological Science provides comprehensive, foundational knowledge and is accredited as the first three years of study. To meet the academic requirement for eligibility for provisional registration as a psychologist, students must complete an Honours year (the fourth year). An additional two years of education and training is then necessary to apply for general registration — either through a fifth year at university plus one year of supervised practice, or an approved postgraduate degree accredited at the fifth and sixth year level.
The double degree takes 4.5 years to complete full-time, or the equivalent on a part-time basis. Studying it as a double degree at UOW provides a world-class qualification in less time and at less cost than studying the two degrees separately.
The minimum score for guaranteed entry is a Selection Rank of 75. Your Selection Rank is your ATAR or IB Combined Rank plus any adjustments you are eligible to receive, based on factors such as the subjects you are studying, the location of your school, or your eligibility for equity and access schemes.
The course is available starting in Autumn 2026 (session start: 2 March 2026) and Spring 2026. For Autumn 2026, key application deadlines include: Domestic UAC Early Bird by 30 September 2025, International by 9 December 2025, Domestic direct by 31 December 2025, and Domestic UAC final round by 29 January 2026.
Yes, if you do not meet the academic requirements, UOW recommends exploring recognised pathway programs such as those offered by UOW College or the TAFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC). Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants aged 17 and over may also apply via Woolyungah Indigenous Centre's Indigenous Admissions Program (IAP) as an alternative pathway.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
