The Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) can be completed in just 8 months (2 semesters), making it one of the fastest pathways to honours-level psychology qualifications in Australia.
Yes, the program is accredited by the Australian Psychological Accreditation Council (APAC) and approved by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA). It is recognised by APAC as the equivalent of the fourth year of the six-year psychology training pathway.
Upon completion of the Honours program, graduates will be eligible to apply for provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and progress to a master's level program. Graduates may apply for provisional registration as a Psychologist providing they enrol in further postgraduate studies or undertake two years' supervised training.
In Semester 1, you will cover foundational Multivariate Research Methods and research ethics, Human Experimental Psychology, and an elective. In Semester 2, you will undertake two further foundation subjects — Principles of Psychological Assessment and Professional Psychology — and complete your thesis. Elective choices include forensic psychology, neuropsychology, clinical psychology and more.
As a Fourth Year student, you will have exclusive access to a dedicated Fourth Year Lab and study space equipped with the latest data analytics software. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
