About This Course

The Bachelor of Psychological Science/Bachelor of Commerce (BPsychSc/BCom) is an Australian Catholic University double degree of 320 credit points with a minimum duration of four years full-time or equivalent part-time. The 2026 handbook lists Melbourne and Strathfield as approved locations, with a note that the course is not offered at Strathfield in 2026. To qualify for the degree a student completes 320 credit points from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, made up of 160 credit points of Bachelor of Psychological Science units and 160 credit points of Bachelor of Commerce units. The psychology half consists of 140 credit points of Specified Psychology units (Part A), 10 credit points of Psychology elective units (Part B) and a 10 credit point Psychology Community Engagement unit (Part C). Named psychology units include Foundations of Psychology, Applications of Psychology, Psychological Practice: Theory and Techniques, Research Design and Data Analysis 1 and 2, Life Span Development, Abnormal Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences, Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Psychological Assessment, and Brain and Behaviour. The commerce half consists of 50 credit points of Specified Commerce units (Part D), 80 credit points of Commerce major units in Human Resource Management, Management or Marketing (Part E), 10 credit points of business elective units (Part F) and 20 credit points of Core Curriculum units (Part G). Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide unless otherwise approved by the Course Adviser, and in all aspects of progress through the course students are advised by the Course Adviser.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Domestic students

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent:
- New South Wales: Assumed Knowledge — English (Standard) (Band 2) or English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) (Band 3)
- Victoria: Units 3 and 4 — a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL
An applicant must also comply with ACU's Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

International students

ACU's handbook states no separate international academic requirement for this course. International applicants must meet the same year 12 prerequisites as domestic applicants, and must also meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
