About This Course

Develop your understanding of human nature and communication Media and Communication is the cornerstone to psychology. Studying the combined Bachelor of Psychological Science/Bachelor of Media and Communication will prepare you with foundational knowledge in both areas and provide you with a broad skillset to be used in a variety of fields.

This program is for those who are interested in using science to understand people while also learning how to effectively communicate information across multiple mediums. With a range of course options, you’ll learn to push your individual creative boundaries, while examining the changing nature of today’s complex social landscapes. Students will complete a total of 320 units, comprised of the following: Hear from our students about their career-ready placement at the Blue Heeler Film Festival. Career-ready placement and research opportunities can be sought with Psychology Biomedical Science and HMRI Research labs, the University of Newcastle Psychology Community Clinic and external agencies. Students will access psychology labs and equipment. They will undertake pre-professional courses each year, preparing for professional practice with guest lectures and problem-based workshops. The Bachelor of Psychological Science/Bachelor of Media and Communication (Callaghan, Gosford) is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) as a LEVEL 1 APAC accredited degree. Ourimbah was previously accredited up to 22 January 2026 when it was replaced by the new Gosford location.
