About This Course

A nationally accredited psychology qualification is available to students who have already completed a degree in any discipline, with the Bachelor of Psychological Studies (Graduate Entry). This degree will help you enhance your understanding of human behaviour and to pursue further studies in psychology. Students receive 2 years (72 units) of credit for previous tertiary study and undertake 1 year of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time).

Applicants must hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution (if a psychology major or sequence is held, it must have been completed three or more years ago)
Must meet the prerequisites for Second Year Psychology topics by having completed one of the following:
- The Flinders topics PSYC1101 and PSYC1102, or equivalent topics that are part of an APAC accredited psychology major or sequence from another institution (or deemed equivalent)
- The Qualifying Topic (QT) for the Flinders University Bachelor of Psychological Studies
Note: It is recommended that students who completed PSYC1101 and PSYC1102 (or equivalent) more than 10 years ago complete the QT prior to commencing this program
The Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature

Career Opportunities

The course prepares students for diverse career pathways, including postgraduate training in clinical and professional psychology. Graduates are eligible to apply for Honours in psychology or the Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Advanced). In order to become a psychologist, graduates must then complete two further years of further study/training, for example, a 2-year Master of Psychology, or a 1-year Master of Professional Psychology plus internship.
