Common Questions
Yes, the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council and is required to apply for provisional registration as a psychologist in Australia. An additional two years of education and training is necessary to apply for general registration. This can be through a fifth year at University plus one year of supervised practice in the community or an approved postgraduate degree accredited at the fifth and sixth year level.
The double degree takes 5.5 years full-time, or the part-time equivalent. UOW notes that a double degree provides a world-class qualification in less time and at less cost than studying the two degrees separately.
Yes, the University of Wollongong has been awarded with the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) accreditation, placing UOW among the world's top 6% of business schools. Some majors within the Bachelor of Business also enable graduates to meet the membership requirements of relevant professional associations.
The minimum score for guaranteed entry is a Selection Rank of 89. Your Selection Rank is your ATAR or IB Combined Rank plus any adjustments you are eligible to receive. The equivalent IBAS is 34.75.
Yes, if you have completed prior studies or relevant professional experience, you can request course credit or subject exemptions to reduce the duration and cost of your program. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
