Students must have completed the Bachelor of Public Health at the University of Wollongong or a degree deemed equivalent by the Head of Students, and achieved a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 75 in 200- and 300-level subjects.
The Bachelor of Public Health (Honours) takes 1 year full-time, or a part-time equivalent. It is an additional fourth year of study designed for high achieving students who have completed the Bachelor of Public Health.
Throughout the degree, you will design, plan and implement a substantial piece of research, critically evaluate the relevant literature and exercise creative intellectual enquiry, contribute professionally to a research environment and, when necessary, work as part of a team and present the research in an appropriate format. The degree provides training in in-depth enquiry, specialised development of research skills, project management and communicating findings.
Graduates may pursue careers as a Corporate Wellness Officer, Health and Wellbeing Officer, Health Information Technology Advisor, Health Promotion Officer, Indigenous Health Officer, NDIS Support Coordinator, Public Health Consultant or Advocate, Public Health Project Manager, Public Health Researcher, Social Marketer, or Social Policy Advisor.
The Bachelor of Public Health (Honours) is offered in both Autumn and Spring sessions. For 2026, sessions start on 2 March 2026 (Autumn) and 27 July 2026 (Spring). For 2027, the Autumn session starts on 1 March 2027. The course is delivered on campus at Wollongong.
