The Bachelor of Science (Advanced Science) at Flinders lets you choose from 6 Majors and 23 Minors. Available majors include Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Data Science, Environmental Science, Molecular Biology, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, and Wireless Systems Security. Minors include options such as Marine Biology, Biotechnology, Climate Change, Geospatial Science, Palaeontology, Data Analytics, and Plant Science.
Hands-on research projects are built into every stage of the degree. In your first year, you study Introduction to Research. In second year, you undertake Research Project 1, and in third year, you complete Research Project 2. These embedded research projects prepare you for honours-level study, postgraduate research, or leadership roles in science and industry.
For domestic students, the guaranteed entry ATAR is 90.00. Alternative entry pathways include a STAT score of 170.0, a GPA of 5.0, a TAFE/VET Diploma or above, or pathway options such as the Science Diploma in Arts. There are no prerequisites or assumed knowledge requirements.
For 2026, the annual indicative fee is $9,537 for Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) students and $43,500 for Full Fee Paying (FFP) students.
Graduates are equipped for careers as Research Scientists (typical salary $110K), Physicists (typical salary $105K), Epidemiologists, Biotechnologists, University Lecturers/Academic Researchers, and Data Scientists. The degree also prepares students for honours study, PhD programs, and leadership roles in science and industry.
