International:

• Minimum age: at least 17 years old at the time of enrolment.
• Academic: minimum an Australian Year 12 qualification (or equivalent); for the Global region, an ATAR of 95 (or equivalent) is the standard published academic entry score.
• English entry requirements (Level C): overall score 7.0 for IELTS (Academic), with minimum band scores of 6.5 in each of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking (or equivalent approved English test scores).
• Prerequisite subjects: English (VCE Units 3&4 score 35 for EAL or 30 for Other English, or IB equivalents — a higher score than most Monash courses); Science (VCE Units 3&4, one of Biology/Chemistry/Environmental Science/Geography/Mathematical Methods/Specialist Mathematics/Physics/Psychology at score 25, or IB equivalents).
• Additional requirement: any science-based studies used to meet the prerequisite must have been completed within five years of intended commencement.

Domestic:

• Selection is ATAR-based (Clayton): 2026 lowest selection rank to which an offer was made was 85; lowest ATAR to which an offer was made in 2026 was 85.70; the Monash Guarantee threshold for 2026 entry is 85.
• Available Full Time or Part Time; same English and Science prerequisite subjects apply as for international students; no English-language test required for domestic students.

• Graduates with knowledge in both science and law are increasingly sought after, as scientific research and commercialisation of new technologies grow.
• The law degree is recognised by the Victorian Legal Admissions Board (VLAB) as satisfying academic requirements for admission to legal practice in Victoria.
• Science majors ranging from Applied Mathematics to Zoology (25 available) can be combined with a legal career pathway, including plant science, psychology, environmental science and pharmacology.
