Yes, practical experience is available. In your third year, you can choose an option topic that includes a 6-week Industry-based Practicum, giving you hands-on experience in the field. Study abroad opportunities are also available.
For 2026, the annual indicative fees are $9,537 for Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) domestic students and $43,500 for Full Fee Paying (FFP) international students.
The guaranteed entry ATAR for the Bachelor of Science (Animal Behaviour) is 70.00. Alternative entry pathways are also available, including STAT (165.0), GPA (4.5), TAFE/VET Certificate IV or above, and the Science Diploma in Arts pathway.
Graduates can pursue careers as Wildlife Conservation Officers (typical salary $85K), Animal Behaviourists working in zoos, research programs, or veterinary clinics (typical salary $80K), Zoo or Sanctuary Technicians, Animal Welfare Officers, and Field Ecologists. With further postgraduate study and work experience, careers could also include animal management for government agencies, research, and education.
