The degree combines immersive fieldwork, practical lab skills, and ecological theory. You'll have access to placement opportunities and industry connections in Year 2, and in Year 3 you'll undertake an industry project along with a 6-week industry placement as part of your option topics. There is also a final-year placement or research project to prepare you with solutions to real-world biodiversity challenges.
Domestic students can enter with a Guaranteed Entry ATAR of 75.00, a STAT score of 165.0, a GPA of 4.5, or a TAFE/VET Certificate IV or above. Pathway options also exist via the Science Diploma in Arts. No prerequisites are required, though Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry to SACE Stage 1 is desirable but not assumed.

The Bachelor of Science (Biodiversity and Conservation) is delivered in person at Flinders University's Bedford Park and City campuses in South Australia. Intake dates are available in March and July each year.
In Year 1, you study core topics including Introduction to Biodiversity and Conservation, Evolution of Biological Diversity, Biostatistics, Geospatial Information Systems, and Molecular Basis of Life, plus two option topics of your choice.
