There is no minimum ATAR requirement for the Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) (Honours). Entry is based on completion of a relevant undergraduate degree such as a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences or Bachelor of Science (Laboratory Medicine) with a Course Weighted Average (CWA) of 65% or above in highest level units.
The Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) (Honours) is one year full-time study, worth 200 credits (approximately eight units), with 100 credits in each semester. Part-time study is also available.
Yes. Graduates with first or upper-second-class honours are eligible for direct entry into PhD programs, making this course the preferred route for students proceeding to a higher degree.
You will apply biomedical science knowledge through a research project, demonstrate knowledge of bioscience research methodologies, critically analyse biomedical science literature, design and implement a research project, communicate research outcomes through a proposal, dissertation and oral presentations, work independently, and demonstrate an application of the ethical requirements for research in a bioscience research field, among other outcomes.
Curtin requires all applicants to demonstrate proficiency in English. For this course, the IELTS Academic requirement is an overall band score of 6.5, with minimum scores of 6 in each of Writing, Speaking, Reading, and Listening.
