Common Questions
Students are required to complete 3 mandatory practicum units: SPS3112 (140 hours), SPS2524 Exercise Delivery (30 hours), and SPS4126 (360 hours). Additionally, the unit SPS3604 includes 30 hours of work placement. Students will undertake practicum placement during the hours laid down by their host organisation and may be required to attend after hours and on weekends.
Prior to the clinical placement in the fourth year of study, students are required to submit evidence of a National Police Clearance Certificate, National Criminal History Record Check, WA Health Working with Children Check (where necessary), and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. A placement host may also have vaccination and other requirements, including vaccination against Covid-19 unless you have a medical exemption.
Yes. If you complete the Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) degree (with the appropriate elective units) and decide that you'd like to pursue a career in exercise rehabilitation, you'll only need to study this course for one year to be eligible to become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
For domestic students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $11,550 (Commonwealth supported place). For international students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $42,300.
The course is available at the Joondalup campus. Domestic students can study full-time or part-time in both Semester 1 and Semester 2. International students can study full-time in both Semester 1 and Semester 2.
