Common Questions
To be considered for admission, you need to have completed a bachelor degree or higher, or a major in a related discipline, with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65 in third year units, or where relevant, final year units. A combination of qualifications and experience may be deemed equivalent to minimum academic requirements.
Yes. Before applying, you must identify a project and secure a supervisor. You should review the projects booklet on the honours in life and environmental sciences page to find a project that interests you, then contact the project supervisor to discuss it and obtain their written (email) agreement to supervise you. After agreeing upon a project, you complete the honours application form and submit it through the application portal.
Students can complete the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in one of three discipline areas: Biology (unit set code SP-S000066), Chemistry (unit set code SP-S000067), or Mathematics (unit set code SP-S000068). Each discipline has its own set of research specialisation and coursework units.
The estimated tuition fee for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) is $8,957 for 1 year full-time in a Commonwealth Supported Place (HECS). This is provided as a guide only and represents typical first-year tuition fees; the actual cost will vary depending on the units you choose, your study load, the time it takes to complete your course and any approved Recognition of Prior Learning.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) will have the generic skills, theoretical knowledge, and specialised practical expertise to gain employment in their relevant discipline (biology, chemistry or mathematics), or to succeed in further study such as Higher Degrees by Research, including masters or PhD programs. You'll graduate with skills that give you a competitive edge in the job market.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
