When you graduate, you are eligible to apply for registration to become a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
You'll develop strong, practical skills through supervised clinical placements in hospital, private practice, aged care, rural health, and community and mental health settings. You may also have the opportunity for international study experiences.
Yes. If you are currently a qualified enrolled or registered nurse, the following options are available: Enrolled Nurse to Registered Nurse stream (domestic only), Registered Nurse Conversion – Australian Registration Nurse stream (domestic and international), and Registered Nurse Conversion – Non-Registration Nurse stream (domestic only). To study one of these streams, apply for the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) and for credit for recognised learning (CRL). Note that Kalgoorlie and Albany locations offer the Enrolled Nurse to Registered Nurse stream only.
Please be aware, the Nursing comprehensive stream will be replaced by the new Advanced Nursing course from 2026. The Enrolled Nurse to Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse Conversion streams will be available via the Bachelor of Science (Advanced Nursing) from 2027; before 2027, both streams can be studied only via the Bachelor of Science (Nursing).
The IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System) requirements for this course are: Writing 7, Speaking 7, Reading 7, Listening 7, and an Overall band score of 7. If your English level does not yet meet the requirement, you can study through Curtin English, the university's dedicated language school.
