Bachelor of Science (Physical Sciences)

The Bachelor of Science (Physical Sciences) offers two majors: Physics and Chemistry. These majors can be taken together or combined with others from across the university, such as Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Information Technology, Environmental and Conservation Sciences, and Engineering.

From day one, you will develop practical high demand skills in analytical and computational methods, hands-on techniques in imaging, materials synthesis and characterisation, and advanced analysis, along with critical thinking, problem solving and creativity — all in the context of cutting-edge science with immediate real-world applications.

Domestic students require an ATAR of 70 to be eligible for this course, though additional entry options are also available including vocational education qualifications, prior tertiary study, and enabling pathway programs.

The first year fee for domestic students is $9,093 (Commonwealth Supported), and the full course fee is $27,278. For international students, the first year fee is $41,990 and the full course fee is $125,970. These fees are indicative and based on a typical full-time enrolment of 24 credit points per year.

The course is available with intakes in Semester 1, 2026; Semester 2, 2026; Semester 1, 2027; and Semester 2, 2027, all delivered at the Murdoch campus. Domestic students can study in face-to-face or mixed mode, while international students study face-to-face only.
