Common Questions
Curtin Law School offers a complete pathway to legal practice. After gaining your Bachelor of Laws, you can complete the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (also known as Practical Legal Training, or PLT), which together meet the academic and PLT requirements to qualify for admission to the legal profession in Western Australia. The course is also accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council, and graduates can apply for associate membership of the Australian Psychological Society. For full general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, you must complete a further two years of training via either an accredited one-year master program and a one-year internship as a provisionally registered psychologist (followed by the National Psychology Exam), or an accredited two-year master program.
If you choose to study full-time, you can graduate with two degrees in 5.5 years (5 years, 6 months). The first four years are delivered in semesters at Curtin Perth, while the fifth year, plus one trimester, is delivered at Curtin Law School in Perth city.
While studying in Perth city, you'll gain practical experience by undertaking simulated proceedings in Curtin's high-tech moot court and working on real cases at the John Curtin Law Clinic. You'll also benefit from the proximity of the Supreme Court, the District Court and the Federal Court, and from relationships with Curtin academics and practising solicitors and barristers based at Curtin Law School.
The 2026 domestic indicative Commonwealth-supported first-year fee is $13,500. This is based on a first-year full-time study load of 200 credit points. Fees will vary depending on the units chosen and do not include other fees such as administrative and incidental fees or the cost of textbooks.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Science (Psychology) can pursue careers as policy advisors, social researchers, support workers, youth workers, program officers, and mental health advocates. With further study, graduates can become lawyers or psychologists, and may work across industries including law, business, healthcare, mining and resources, government, non-profit organisations, and education.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
