Note that Geographic Information Science and Geophysics are not available for semester 2 applications.
To be admitted, you need to have completed an Australian Bachelor of Science or equivalent in your chosen specialisation, with a course weighted average (CWA) of 65% or above in the highest level units. STAT entry and TAFE/VET pathways are not accepted for this course.
Two intakes are offered each year in March and August, except for the Chemistry Honours Major which has a January (Trimester 1) and August intake. Prospective students should note that places may not always be available for the August intake.
During the Honours year, you will study units in your chosen discipline, examine academic research methodology, enhance your analytical skills and innovative ideas, complete a supervised research project, and present an honours dissertation.
The 2026 indicative fee is $9,600 for a Commonwealth supported place (CSP). A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government, which pays part of the course fees directly to Curtin, and the student pays the remainder as the student contribution amount, which can be deferred to a HECS-HELP loan.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
