Common Questions
Domestic students apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) by creating an account, submitting their application, and setting their degree preferences. International students who hold an Australian Year 12, International Baccalaureate Diploma, or NZ NCEA Level 3 also apply via UAC, while all other international students apply directly through UNSW's Apply Online portal.
Yes, UNSW offers a range of scholarships that students in this double degree may be eligible for, including the Scientia Scholarship (for those with a raw ATAR of 99.90 or above, worth $10,000 per year), the Academic Achievement Award ($5,000 for one year), Equity Scholarships for students from low-SES backgrounds, and the Co-op Program offering up to $19,600 per year along with industry placements. International students may be eligible for the International Scientia Coursework Scholarship or the Australia's Global University Award.
UNSW offers several alternative admission pathways including the Gateway Admission Pathway (for students from low-socioeconomic areas or Gateway schools, which can result in early entry or a significantly lower ATAR requirement), the Portfolio Entry Early Conditional Offer Scheme (for students who submit a portfolio demonstrating passion and talent), and the UNSW College Diploma pathway (allowing students to complete the first year of a bachelor's degree in 12 months and advance to second year).
UNSW currently operates on a trimester system known as UNSW 3+. However, UNSW is introducing a new 'flex-semester' academic calendar starting from 2028, which will change how terms are structured. Prospective students are encouraged to review the latest information on the UNSW website for details relevant to their intended start year.
UNSW is ranked #20 in the world (QS World University Rankings 2024–2026), #1 in Australia for career outcomes (AFR Best Universities Ranking, 2025), and has won the AFR Most Employable University Award seven years in a row (2020–2026). Graduates of UNSW double degrees, including the Bachelor of Social Sciences/Bachelor of Laws, are positioned among Australia's most employable graduates.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
