The course incorporates Field Education 1 and Field Education 2, each requiring students to complete 500 hours of placement, totalling 1000 hours. Field Education will enable students to learn to practice social work through educationally focused service experiences in agency and community settings.
Yes, the degree is an AASW-accredited qualification (Conditional provisional accreditation). It is an entry qualification into the social work profession and has been determined to meet the Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards.
For international students, the tuition fee is $AU 12,000 per trimester, plus a non-refundable application/enrolment fee of $250 and $240 per trimester for subscription to ebooks and materials. For domestic students, the total fees are AUD 41,600, with fees per semester at AUD 5,200, a material fee of AUD 2,000, and an initial payment (tuition fee + enrolment fee) of AUD 5,450.
International students must have an overall valid academic IELTS score of 7.0 with no band score less than 7.0, or an equivalent score in TOEFL or another accredited English language test. The score must have been attained within two years of the date of application for admission. Alternatively, students who have successfully completed at least an Australian Diploma qualification within the last 2 years may also meet this requirement.
Students need to provide a National Police Certificate, a Working with Children Check, a National Police Check from their Country of Origin, and a NSW Health Compliant Certificate for enrolment in Field Education 1 and Field Education 2, which are compulsory units in the course. If students cannot obtain an NPC from their home country, they must complete an Overseas Student Statutory Declaration.
