Speech pathologists assess and treat children and adults with communication and swallowing needs. This includes developmental and acquired speech and language disorders, cognitive communication disorders, voice disorders and stuttering. You will learn and develop the necessary skills to competently take on the full range of conditions that speech pathologists assess and treat including: Students will study a variety of foundation courses including,but not limited to: Honours Study Pathways in Speech Pathology: As a requirement for the honours program in this degree, you have the option to select one of the study paths detailed in the Speech Pathology handbook. Language Diploma with Speech Pathology Degree: As a student of Speech Pathology, you can concurrently pursue a Diploma in Languages, which offers you the opportunity to learn a new language alongside your main degree! This additional qualification will offer you unique opportunities and career pathways in Australia and around the world. Students take part in more than 20 weeks of placements within NSW services or facilities, including NSW Health facilities. You will gain quality practical experiences through a range of clinical education placements during your studies developing your skills and knowledge to meet professional accreditation requirements.
