Yes, JCU's Bachelor of Speech Pathology is accredited by Speech Pathology Australia, the federally recognised professional body representing speech pathologists in Australia. Completing the degree is equivalent to registration and graduates are eligible for Practising Membership with Speech Pathology Australia. You will benefit from 800 hours of placement opportunities, including in rural and remote areas. You'll complete practical placements in urban, regional and remote areas, giving you the experience to work in any setting. Placements may be facilitated by public or private hospitals, health clinics, or disability services.
The Honours component is embedded in the fourth year of the degree and has two streams available. In the professional stream, small groups of students work collaboratively to conduct a research project within the field of speech pathology, present their findings and prepare a thesis. In the research stream, students work independently to conduct a research study in an area of interest within speech pathology, also presenting findings and submitting a thesis, which may be published in professional journals or presented at conferences. The professional stream supports postgraduate Master's study, while the research stream can be a pathway to a PhD or similar research qualification.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
