You can tailor your studies with majors in Sport Coaching and Development, Outdoor Education, or Sports Business. You also have options to minor in Strength and Conditioning, Sports Business, Sport Coaching and Development, or Outdoor Education. You choose your specialisation after your first year.
Yes, the degree includes hands-on placements across sport coaching, management, outdoor adventure and community programs. In your third year, you will complete an Industry Placement Project as one of your core topics, giving you real-world expertise before you graduate.
Domestic students can gain guaranteed entry with an ATAR of 70.00, a STAT score of 150.0, or a GPA of 4.5. TAFE/VET applicants need a Certificate IV or above. Pathway options include Business, Diploma in Health Science, Diploma in Business, Diploma in Sport Business, and Diploma in Sport Management. There are no prerequisites or assumed knowledge requirements.
The Bachelor of Sport and Active Recreation is delivered in person at Flinders University's Bedford Park and City campuses. Intake dates are in March and July each year. Note that students studying the Outdoor Education major or Strength and Conditioning minor will need to attend some classes at Bedford Park.
