Common Questions
The Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management requires completion of 300 hours of practical experience through six practicum courses (HLTH1508, HLTH1509, HLTH2511, HLTH2512, HLTH3514 and HLTH3515). Placements are managed and authorised by the Practicum Coordinator, and students must formally register and seek approval on the standard form prior to commencement. A lower-level Practicum course must be completed before enrolment in a higher-level practicum course unless permission is granted by the Dean of the School of Business.
The Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management is available at two campuses: Fremantle (WA) and Sydney (NSW). The program is offered in a blended study mode and can be studied full-time over 3 years or part-time on an equivalent basis, with commencement available in both Semester 1 and Semester 2.
For WA applicants with recent secondary education, the indicative ATAR/Selection Rank required is 70 (which includes ATAR plus Adjustment Factors), or an International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 25. In addition to academic requirements, Notre Dame also considers non-academic achievements such as leadership roles, volunteering, work, church and/or community involvement, as well as personal qualities and aspirations.
Graduates of this program can follow diverse career paths in the private and public sectors. Career opportunities range from player manager, recreation centre manager, and professional sporting club manager, to roles in sport and recreation associations, local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, and local/regional council administrator positions. Graduates will have the skills necessary for a management position initially at the operational level and progressing through to senior management positions.
Yes, students can immerse themselves in other cultures through Study Abroad and international exchange programs, study tours, and professional placements, which provide valuable academic and personal growth while earning credit toward their degree. Students can also engage with the world through Global experiences, volunteer opportunities and cross-cultural initiatives. There is also an option to undertake a pilgrimage embedded in the study of the philosophy and theology of pilgrimage, such as World Youth Day.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
