About This Course

The Bachelor of Sport Business prepares students for careers across the dynamic and competitive sports industry. This degree develops practical skills in sport management, marketing, commercial sport, sports media and sport development. Delivered in partnership with the St Kilda Football Club, students gain real-world experience through strong industry engagement, including guest speakers, field trips and a 228-hour internship with leading sporting organisations. Delivered in small, supportive classes by experienced industry professionals, the course equips graduates with the knowledge, confidence and industry connections to succeed in professional sport, government, venues and sports events.

Based at the Bourke Street Melbourne and Glen Waverley campuses, the Bachelor of Sport Business develops practical, industry-ready skills across sport management, marketing, events, and commercial sport. Students gain hands-on experience through industry projects, case studies, networking opportunities, and the 228-hour industry internship in professional sporting environments, learning in small, supportive classes led by experienced educators with strong industry backgrounds.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Domestic Students:

Recent Secondary Education (within the past two years): applicants with recent secondary education are those whose eligibility is based on the completion of VCE (or equivalent) within the current year or the previous two years, and must have successfully completed one of the following: Units 3 and 4 in English other than EAL with a study score of at least 25, or English as an Additional Language (EAL) with a study score of at least 30. ATAR will be considered as part of selection considerations. Prior to enrolment, learners must complete a literacy and numeracy assessment, attend an interview, and provide certified copies of relevant qualifications.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) Study: applicants who have completed an Australian VET Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline will be considered for entry. Applicants who have completed the Dual Diploma of Diploma of Sports and Diploma of Event Management at Holmesglen may be eligible for credit towards the first year of this degree.
Higher Education Study: applicants who have previously commenced or completed subjects within a higher education course are encouraged to apply. Those transferring from another provider may apply for advanced standing, assessed individually with credit granted where equivalency can be demonstrated.
Work and Life Experience: applicants with relevant work and life experience who completed secondary education more than two years prior, and have not undertaken VET or higher education study since, are encouraged to apply. Relevant experience may include mature age entry, employment or professional experience, community involvement, or other life experience demonstrating a minimum of five years' work experience in the sports industry or a related occupation.

International Students:

Must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of the course.
IELTS overall score of 6.0 (Academic) or equivalent English language test.
Successful completion of VCE Year 12, or overseas equivalent.
Completion of an Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; or partial/completed higher education study at a recognised university or non-university higher education provider.
All applications are assessed individually.
Applicants who have completed the Dual Diploma of Diploma of Sports and Diploma of Event Management at Holmesglen may be eligible for credit towards the first year of this degree.
