Bachelor of Sport, Health and Physical Activity

Through an independent research project, you can choose to focus your studies on a range of fields, including: athlete wellbeing, behavioural aspects of sport and physical activity, biomechanics and performance analysis, coaching practices, healthy ageing, health and injury in work and sport, obesity prevention, physical activity, skill acquisition, and strength and conditioning.

Entry into the 1 year Honours is highly competitive. If you have demonstrated academic excellence with a Grade Point Average of 5.25 or above during your bachelor degree, you are invited to apply for Honours. You will also need to contact the Honours coordinator in your discipline to discuss your project and arrange for supervision.

You can submit your application directly to Flinders University through the online application system. If you have never studied at or made an application to Flinders University, you can register and submit your application using the eApplication portal. If you have studied at Flinders University within the last 12 months, you can submit your application via the Student System. If you studied at Flinders University more than 12 months ago, you will need to reactivate your FAN first before applying via the Student System.

Students have opportunities to work with industry partners including the South Adelaide Football Club, Arsenal Football Club and Tennis Australia, alongside hands-on learning in multi-sport facilities.

Yes, studying Honours will provide a solid grounding in research skills and enhanced knowledge to help you progress towards a higher degree by research, such as a PhD. You will use skills acquired in research, critical analysis and innovative problem solving and be a part of new discoveries that will shape our world.
