Common Questions
To attain the awards of Bachelor of Sport Management and Bachelor of Business, students will be required to complete 384 credit points consisting of: 96 credit points of First Year core units, 192 credit points of core units, and 96 credit points of Business major units from the approved list.
During your degree, you'll take part in a placement program which gives you valuable work experience and industry contacts. Placements are hosted by 350 different organisations in the fields of sport and exercise science, sport management, sport coaching, recreation, and outdoor education. VU has over 200 partnerships and affiliations with peak sporting bodies, professional and community sporting clubs, and public-health and education groups — including AFL, Melbourne Storm, Melbourne Rebels, Hockey Victoria, Cricket Victoria, Western Bulldogs Football Club, and the Victorian Institute of Sport.
Building on core skills in management, marketing, business practices and sports practices, you can choose from the following majors: Banking and Finance, Event Management, Financial Risk Management, Information Systems Management, International Trade, Marketing, Supply Chain and Logistics Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Business Analytics.
The indicative fee for a full-time student in 2026 is AU$17,399 per year for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). This fee is a guide only, based on a typical full-time study load, and does not include materials such as textbooks, or your Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens will qualify for a CSP place.
