Common Questions
Students must complete six industry practicum courses totalling 350 hours over the span of their degree. Placements are managed and authorised by the Practicum Coordinator and require students to formally register and seek approval on the standard form for the placement with the coordinator prior to commencement.
You can tailor the Communications & Media component to your particular interest by majoring in Journalism, Film and Screen Production, Photomedia Specialisation (Fremantle) or Advertising (Sydney).
The indicative ATAR/Selection Rank for this program is 70 (Selection Ranks include ATAR plus Adjustment Factors). Alternatively, an International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 25 is also accepted. Other entry pathways are available for applicants with higher education, VET study, or work and life experience.
This program is available as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), where the Australian Government pays part of your fees as a subsidy (not a loan) and students pay the student contribution amount, which can be deferred using a HECS-HELP Loan. International students pay full tuition fees, which depend on study load and discipline and are payable each semester at least four weeks prior to commencement.
The total units of credit required to complete the double degree is 825, comprising Core Curriculum courses (75), Business Foundation courses (200), Marketing and Public Relations courses (225), Business Internship course (25), Communications and Media Major courses (200), Communications and Media compulsory courses (50), and Communications and Media Elective courses (50).
