The Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been accredited by the Chinese Medicine Accreditation Committee, and graduates are able to apply for general registration with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia in three divisions: Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner, and Chinese Herbal Dispenser.
Yes. This program includes a placement or other community-based unpaid practical experience, and there is a mandatory work component required for completion of the program. The final two years of the program focus on clinical skills and practical experience. Students should contact the Program Advisor for more information.
From the first session of first year, students take TCM subjects alongside a broad foundation in biomedicine and health sciences. The final two years focus on clinical skills, practical experience, and specialised areas such as skin disease, gynaecology, and the musculoskeletal system. TCM subjects cover acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, herbal dispensing, Chinese medical theory, and clinical assessment.
The indicative annual fee for international students is AUD $37,758. These estimates are based on current fee structures for a normal full-time study load and are subject to change. Domestic students may be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), which reduces program fees through a government subsidy.
