Common Questions
The Bachelor of Visual Arts is offered at ECU's City Campus, which is described as being like no other university in Australia, featuring learning spaces and technology that encourages creative thinking and collaboration with students across different programs and with key industry groups.
For domestic students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $9,550 (Commonwealth supported place). For international students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $37,700.
This course doesn't require an ATAR for entry. You can apply using ECU's Creative Humanities Portfolio Entry pathway. Alternatively, academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of an AQF Cert IV, an Undergraduate Certificate, a University Preparation Course, the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test, the Indigenous University Orientation Course, the Experience Based Entry Scheme, or 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider.
Graduates will discover employment opportunities within the vibrant cultural sector, both nationally and internationally, including roles as artists, curators, designers, exhibition and installation team members, creative directors and writers.
Students are required to complete 240 credit points of core units and 120 credit points of elective units, totalling 360 credit points over 3 years full-time. Students that complete a 4-unit, subject-based Elective Sequence may nominate to have this recorded on their transcript as a minor in the subject area; alternatively, students may complete any other combination of major, minors, or elective units from the School of Arts and Humanities or other Schools in the university.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
