The total course fee is $2,500 AUD, which includes a non-refundable enrolment fee of $500 AUD (paid on application) and a course fee of $2,000 AUD. Payments are processed through a secure platform that accepts Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards.
Once you have successfully passed the SAIWA Competency Test, you become eligible to apply for a Security Officer License through the Western Australia Police – Licensing Enforcement Division (WAPOL LED). For guidance regarding licensing eligibility, you can contact WAPOL LED at 303 Sevenoaks Street, Cannington WA 6107, by phone on 1300 171 011, or by email at securitylicensing@police.wa.gov.au.
Students must meet one of the following: score a 6 or above on the IELTS, score a 52 or above on the Pearson Test of English Academic, satisfactorily complete ELICOS to at least Upper Intermediate level, OR provide evidence of being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country or having completed Year 12 in English Language. All students must also pass a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment conducted by a Phia Education Trainer/Assessor, which includes a written test and interview. International students applying from their home country will complete this during a video call interview.
Students must be physically strong and fit, including being able to quickly respond to visual and auditory cues in the environment, able to perform physical tasks on a daily basis, and able to work on their feet for extended periods of time. Physical tasks in the role include ejecting persons from property, performing first aid, and patrolling sites or checking people in and out at gates.
Yes. All applicants can apply for credit transfer of units that they have already been issued with from another RTO. Additionally, they may wish to apply for recognition of prior learning gained from their past formal and informal learning pathway from other training, work or life experience.
