Yes, this qualification allows you to apply for a Restricted Split System Air-conditioning Installation Licence, enabling you to install and service systems up to 18kW. The qualification meets only the training components for a national restricted heat pump, split system, installation and decommissioning Refrigerant Handling Licence, which is required to work on equipment that carries the risk of a fluorocarbon refrigerant being emitted while decanting the refrigerant, installing, commissioning or decommissioning refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
Yes, this course requires some practical assessments that can be completed in a block release at our Ingleburn campus. The course is delivered in a blended mode, combining online theory and assessments with hands-on practical sessions at the Ingleburn campus, allowing you to study at your own pace while still gaining essential practical skills in a real training environment.
Course fees start from $1,600 and may vary depending on eligibility for credit transfers. The upcoming CERT II SPLITS 2026 program (starting 24/03/2026 and ending 31/12/2026) has an original price of $7,000.00, with a current discounted price of $4,900.00.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. No prior experience is required, but a basic understanding of electrical systems and mechanical skills will be beneficial for learning.
Students who complete the UEE20120 Certificate II Split Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems can continue their studies by advancing to the UEE32220 Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or any other relevant Certificate III level qualification. The UEE20120 is also a prerequisite for several specialised courses in the Electrotechnology Industry that will help you to further your career.
