Certificate II in Workplace Skills

Certificate II in Workplace Skills (BSB20120) is an entry-level qualification for individuals in a variety of entry-level Business Services roles, including those who haven't yet entered the workforce and are still developing the foundational skills needed to do so. Students carry out basic procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that call for self-management and technology skills, performing routine work under direct supervision while building fundamental operational knowledge. The course comprises 10 units of competency (5 core, 5 elective) covering workplace health and safety, time management, working effectively in business environments, communication skills, sustainable work practices, using business software applications and digital technologies, problem-solving, customer service delivery, and working effectively with others. Delivered over 26 weeks - shorter than WIA's other business qualifications - the course prepares graduates for roles such as Office Receptionist or Administrative Assistant. Successful completion opens a pathway into the BSB30120 Certificate III in Business or another relevant Certificate III qualification. It is offered at WIA's Sydney and Brisbane campuses.
