Graduates of the Certificate III in Apparel, Fashion and Textiles are qualified to work in roles such as Fashion Design Assistant, Dressmaker, Production Assistant, Textile Assistant, Machine Operator, Sustainable Practice Assistant, and Cutter/Laying. Yes, completion of the Certificate III in Apparel, Fashion and Textiles gives you direct entry into the Diploma of Apparel, Fashion and Textiles qualification. From there, you can choose to progress into industry specialisations, including Business Styling or Design and product development.
The course is delivered on campus at Mt Gravatt (Greater Brisbane), Mooloolaba (Sunshine Coast), and South Bank (Greater Brisbane, TAFE at School only). All options are 100% on campus with teacher-led, scheduled classes. You may also access learning materials through TAFE Queensland's online learning management system, Connect.
Students have access to custom-built fashion facilities including a lab fitted out with various industrial sewing machines, irons and cutting tables. Pattern making studios and lecture rooms feature both communal tables and individual cubicles where students will have access to the latest digital design software. The facilities are designed to encourage hands-on, collaborative work.
