Common Questions
To enrol, students must have successfully completed the AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, be a minimum of 18 years of age (or turning 18 prior to commencement), and have completed Year 10 or equivalent. English proficiency is also required, with an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (no individual section less than 5.5), or a Pre-entry Oxford English online test result of no less than B2.2 with a minimum score of 71.
The course duration is 26 weeks in total, comprising 22 teaching weeks and 4 weeks of holidays. It is delivered face to face.
The qualification requires a total of 32 units, consisting of 21 core units and 11 elective units. A Certificate is issued where all 32 units have been deemed competent.
A Statement of Attainment is issued when only some units are deemed competent and the course is not completed in full. Issuing of your Certificate and or Statement of Attainment occurs within 30 days of your last unit being deemed competent, however, this may be delayed in the event that you have not provided your Unique Student Identifier (USI) or you have any outstanding fees.
This qualification is intended to prepare new employees or recognise and develop existing workers who service, diagnose and repair electrical systems and components in vehicles in the automotive electrical service and repair industry. Employment outcomes targeted by this qualification include the role of Automotive Technician.
