About This Course

This qualification reflects the role of barbers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of barbering services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their own work. This qualification provides a pathway to work as a barber in any industry environment, usually a barber shop or salon.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Student must have completed at least an Australian Year 12 or equivalent.
Depending upon the student's previous experiences and the nationality of studies, Year 11 (Australian Equivalent) may be sufficient.
The student must provide evidence of attaining an overall IELTS score of 6 bands, OR equivalent scores on a similar test (such as PTE, etc.), OR have attained at least Upper Intermediate level of English with evidence, OR pass Vibe's relevant Internal English Placement Test.
English Language Requirements exemptions apply if:
- The student is enrolled in full-time school studies as a principal course including in a secondary exchange programme, a postgraduate research course, a standalone ELICOS, or is a Foreign Affairs or Defence sponsored student.
- The student has completed at least five years' study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.
- In the two years before applying for the student visa, the student has completed in Australia and in the English language either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework at Certificate IV or higher level, while holding a student visa.
