Common Questions
You'll need to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Assessment (LLND). As this course is delivered as an apprenticeship, you must also have a Contract of Training with an employer to enrol.
Fees vary depending on the units you enrol into. Domestic fees per semester are Concession $1,740 or Subsidised $2,828.
The apprenticeship runs for 78 weeks part-time in a blended format at the Adelaide City campus, combining on-campus training with paid on-the-job experience.
Graduates are job-ready to work as a barber, typically in a barber shop or hairdressing salon, with a technical grounding to pursue further career development in the broader hairdressing and personal services sector.
The qualification comprises 21 core units and 5 elective units, covering solid, graduated, layered and combination haircuts, freehand clipper and over-comb cutting, head and face shaving, and beard and moustache design and maintenance.
