Must be employed under an apprenticeship contract.

The off-the-job training option is day release — one day per week over 18 months.

How much does the Certificate III in Barbering apprenticeship cost?

For 2026, the indicative course fees are: Year 1A — $1,529.50 (non-concession) or $948.10 (concession); Year 1B — $960.10 (non-concession) or $538.30 (concession); Year 2 — $966.45 (non-concession) or $476.25 (concession). Total fees are inclusive of tuition, learning and tracking manuals, mannequins, and all consumable resources. Fortnightly payment options are available on request.

Is there a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) option available for this qualification?

Yes. If you are working as a barber without a barbering qualification, you can get your barbering skills certified through Recognition of Prior Learning. The process takes approximately 1 month from the initial interview to practical assessment.

Who funds the Certificate III in Barbering apprenticeship program?

The training program is funded by the WA Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD).
