Domestic applicants need to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Assessment (LLND). International applicants need Year 10 completion or equivalent plus academic IELTS 6.0 overall (minimum 5.0 in each band), or an equivalent approved English test.
Fees vary depending on the units you enrol into. Domestic fees per semester are Concession $3,360, Subsidised $4,410, or Full Fee $9,940. International students pay AUD$19,445 in total across 2 semesters.
The course runs for 12 months, full-time or part-time, in a blended format combining on-campus learning in TAFE SA's beauty clinics with flexible online study. It's offered at Adelaide City, Berri, Elizabeth, Mount Gambier, Noarlunga and Port Pirie.
Graduates can work as a beautician, retail beauty consultant, or beauty salon assistant, or build their own client base in beauty salons, spas and retail beauty settings.
The qualification comprises 14 core units and 7 elective units, spanning make-up application, cosmetic tanning, waxing, manicure and pedicure services, lash and brow treatments, with electives available in eyelash extensions and camouflage make-up.
