Common Questions
The course runs for 52 weeks, including 48 study weeks and 4 weeks of holidays. The study load is 20 hours a week in the classroom and 4 hours of structured self-study, plus approximately 5 hours of additional unsupervised study per week including general reading and research for assessments.
Applicants must have an IELTS score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, completing at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO, or through successful completion of an English Placement Test. Other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can also be accepted if results are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
Yes. To undertake construction work in Australia, it is mandatory to complete the General Construction Induction Training, in accordance with the Model Code of Practice for Construction Work. This requirement is met upon completion of the unit CPCCWHS1001 โ Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
Assessments for this course may include written questions, projects, presentations, reports, role plays/observations, and portfolios/journals. At the beginning of each unit, your trainer and assessor will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed.
Yes. You can apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in the International Student Handbook. If you are granted course credit, this will affect your course fees as well as the duration of your course, and you will be advised in writing of any changes and issued with a new Confirmation of Enrolment.
