The Certificate III in Business has a total duration of up to 78 weeks, which includes 60 weeks of course delivery plus 18 weeks of term break.
International students must meet one of the following English language requirements: IELTS 6.0 overall (no less than 5.5 in each band) or an equivalent test result, OR completion of General English / EAP at the Upper-Intermediate level from an approved ELICOS provider. Any AQF qualification at Certificate IV or above delivered and assessed in English will also be deemed as meeting this requirement.
Graduates of the Certificate III in Business may pursue roles such as Customer Service Advisor, Data Entry Operator, Clerk Typist, Word Processing Operator, Administration Assistant, Information Desk Clerk, and Receptionist.
On completing this qualification, students can choose to enrol in the BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business or the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership & Management.
The course is delivered in a blended mode, requiring students to attend 15 hours of face-to-face classroom study plus 5 hours of structured online learning every week through the Mercury Colleges ELearn platform. Students must have their own laptop computer, and are required to pay a one-off compulsory resource fee to access the ELearn online learning resource.
