Certificate III in Business

The Certificate III in Business (BSB30120) at TasTAFE is a comprehensive qualification that equips students with practical, transferrable skills to thrive in a variety of workplaces. It suits people exploring a career in business administration as well as those wanting valuable skills they can use across many industries. Students learn to design, write and produce business documents, spreadsheets and electronic presentations, manage personal wellbeing and work priorities, communicate in the workplace, apply critical thinking in a team environment, use inclusive work practices and assist with workplace safety, with electives covering financial transactions and records, business resources, business risk, customer service and complaints. The Certificate III in Business is an applied qualification, so students must demonstrate practical assessment for most units either in a workplace or in a simulated work environment, including role-plays and meetings recorded for a teacher to observe.

Domestically the course is delivered at the Campbell Street campus in Hobart, full-time or part-time through mixed learning, and is also available as a traineeship, with tuition of $1,140 subsidised, $379.96 concession or $6,570 commercial. For international students it runs for 26 weeks in Hobart at 20 hours per week with February and July intakes, at AUD $7,630. Graduates are prepared for entry-level employment across a wide range of business or administrative roles, and can progress to the Certificate IV in Business (BSB40120).
