Common Questions
ALTEC College uses a range of assessment methods including written tasks, practical tasks, projects, case studies, knowledge tests, and observations supported by activities such as role plays, presentations, and group and individual work. Assessments are designed for classroom-based face-to-face delivery and assessment.
You need to complete a total of 25 units: 8 core units and 17 elective units, covering areas such as tool use, production drawings, cutting lists, cabinetry fabrication, surface preparation, and WHS requirements.
The enrolment fee is $250 (non-refundable). Tuition fees are listed in ALTEC College's latest Fee Schedule. All applicable fees will be advised in writing and agreed upon prior to enrolment, and tuition fees once agreed will not change for the duration of the course.
After completing the Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology, candidates may go on to enrol in CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction with other institutes or progress to a diploma. ALTEC College will provide students with pathway information and options.
ALTEC College offers various intakes throughout the year for international students, including intake dates in January, February, March, May, June, July, September, and October. Students can enter the course at any of these intakes, subject to meeting entry requirements. The intakes are published in ALTEC College's Academic Calendar.
