Assessments for this course may include written questions, projects, presentations, reports, role plays/observations, and portfolios/journals. At the beginning of each unit, your trainer and assessor will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed.
After completing the MSF30322 Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology, you may work as a Cabinet Maker, Furniture Maker, Kitchen and Bathroom Installer, Timber Joinery Technician, or Custom Furniture Fabrication Worker in residential, commercial, or industrial environments.
Yes, you can apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in the International Student Handbook. If you are granted course credit, this will affect your course fees as well as the duration of your course, and you will be advised in writing of any changes and issued with a new Confirmation of Enrolment.
The course requires 20 hours a week in the classroom and 4 hours of structured self-study. In addition, you will need to complete approximately 5 hours of additional, unsupervised study per week including general reading and research for assessments. A self-study guide with activities will be provided, which must be completed and handed into your trainer and assessor each week.
The furniture and timber manufacturing industry requires that training and assessment be conducted in a real or closely simulated workplace environment. All units within this qualification must be delivered under these conditions to ensure accurate skill development in the use of machinery, tools, materials, and workplace processes.
