Common Questions
The course duration is 104 weeks, structured as Four (4) Semesters of 26 weeks each, consisting of Eight (8) Terms of Study of 10 weeks each, plus a Three (3) week break at the end of each Term (totalling 24 weeks of breaks).
The Work Experience or Vocational Placement component of the qualification is delivered in term 7 and 8 over a 20 weeks period for up to 24 hours per week to meet a 480 hours work experience requirement.
International students must exhibit a strong command of the English language and meet the minimum score in one of the accepted tests, including: IELTS minimum 5.0, TOEFL iBT 37–50, PTE 40 or higher, CAE 154 or higher, OET minimum D Grade, Duolingo 80–90, CEFR/Oxford minimum B1, CELPIP General score of 5, LANGUAGECERT Academic minimum 50, or Michigan English Test minimum 44. Students without current proof may sit an English Placement Test administered by Skills Australia Institute.
The course is delivered face to face at two campus locations: the Cannington Campus at 230 Railway Parade, Cannington WA 6107, and the Adelaide campus at Level 1, East 50 Grenfell Street, Zurich House, Adelaide SA 5000.
After successfully completing the CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry, students will be able to work in the following job roles: Carpenter, and Carpenter and joiner. Students who complete this course may also wish to continue their education into a range of building and construction qualifications.
