Common Questions
The total course fee is $30,500, which includes a Tuition Fee of $25,000 AUD and a Non-Tuition Fee of $5,500 AUD. In addition, students who purchase the practical training kit from the institute will pay an additional $400. Material fees only include printed reading materials and handouts provided by the institute.
Theory training is delivered face to face at Level 5, 123 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000, while practical training is conducted at 17 David St, Brunswick, Victoria 3056. The course runs for 56 weeks (including holiday breaks) with a volume of learning of 1,230 hours, and students are required to attend for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
International students require a minimum IELTS (General) score of 6.0 for direct entry, or 5.5 combined with at least 10 weeks of ELICOS, or 5.0 combined with at least 20 weeks of ELICOS. An Oxford Placement Test score of 61 or higher is also accepted. Alternatively, students may provide evidence of at least five years of study in English in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa or the Republic of Ireland, or hold a valid passport from certain English-speaking countries. Test results must be no more than two years old.
Successful completion of the CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry may enable students to apply for the CPC50320 Diploma of Building and Construction (Management). In terms of employment, the qualification reflects the knowledge and skills of individuals with significant experience as a Commercial Carpenter, Formwork Carpenter, or Residential Carpenter, though TEDI does not claim any employment outcome or job guarantee.
Yes. Learners are expected to have the physical abilities and manual handling capacity required to perform tasks involved while undergoing training effectively. As part of this qualification, students are expected to do manual handling and heavy lifting. Additionally, all learners are required to have a practical kit to undertake practical training, which is required to enter the workshop. This kit can be purchased from the institute for $400 or from any outside supplier.
